Spencer is a custom application specifically developed for your organization. Therefore Apple requires custom business applications to be distributed via their Apple Business Manager program.
Your organization needs to enroll as an Apple Business to purchase the Spencer application and distribute it through your internal MDM solution or by providing redemption codes to allow employees to request a code and install the application via the Apple App Store.
How to get started
Step 1 — Check if your organization is already enrolled
Check with your internal IT department if your organization is already enrolled in Apple Business Manager or not. If that is the case you can skip the next step.
Step 2 — Enroll your organization in Apple Business Manager
In order to make the Spencer app available for your organization, you'll need to enroll in Apple Business Manager. It's a pretty lengthy process, but we will guide you through all the different steps. If you do need help in setting everything up, don't hesitate to contact your Customer Success Manager.
Tip: To make the initial release of your application go as smooth as possible, we recommend you to start this process as soon as possible. The whole process can take up to 2 weeks.
Step 3 — Share your organization info
Now that your Business Manager has been set up and confirmed, it's time to make the Spencer app available for your organization. To do so, please provide us your 'Organization Name' and 'Organization ID'.
To find your organization info, sign in to your Business Manager account and navigate to 'Settings' at the bottom left corner of your screen. Select 'Enrollment Information' and find all the organization info we need on the right.
Important: Make sure you have 'Custom Apps' enabled and your 'Tax Status' approved by Apple before continuing.
Step 4 — Manage licences and redemption code
Your custom iOS Spencer application is now available in Apple Business Manger. You should be able to find it in the 'Custom Apps' section of the left side menu.
Here you can generate 'Managed Licences' to use for your private MDM solution or generate 'Redemption Codes' that can be used to invite employees. They will be able to request an installation code on your organization's download page to install Spencer via the App Store.
Important: Make sure you provide the generated codes to your Customer Success Manager to make the app available for installation on the download page.

No hassle of making sure the right permissions are granted, policies are set up, certificates are being created, ... Plus it will save you $99 a year! 🙌
Note: If you have your own Apple Developer Account within your organisation and insist on using it to distribute the Spencer app, please contact your Customer Success Manager to discuss the options.
