How to create a new link

In this article, we share how to:

Use the links module to easily share useful sources or documents with your employees. Easily target the content to the right audience, group links by theme or category for clear navigation and order the links how you want them to appear.

The links module is managed in Commslab.

Create a link

Follow the steps in the below demo video to learn how to add a new link.

1. Click 'Create link' to start.

2. Enter a clear and descriptive name for your new link. Optionally add a description.

3. Click 'Create link' to save this new resource to your dashboard.

4. Choose a selection from the dropdown to organize your link within a specific content group.

5. Click 'Save changes' to confirm your icon and color selection.

6. Save all customizations and information for your new link.

7. Switch to the Translations tab to add or edit multilingual content for your link.

8. Click 'Add translation' to begin making your link accessible in other languages.

9. Select one or more languages to add the translation.

10. Confirm your chosen languages and initiate the translation process.

11. Save your translation changes to update your multilingual content.

12. Go to the Target audience tab to specify who can view this link.

13. Choose 'Everyone in the company' or select a specific audience.

14. Click 'Save changes' to keep your selected audience settings.

15. Click 'Publish' to make your link accessible to the configured audience.

16. Click 'Publish link' to make your link live.

Manage and share a link

Click the 'More actions' menu to access actions like Edit or Delete.

These are the available actions:

  • Copy ID: copy the link ID

  • Copy app URL: copy the app URL to easily share it

  • Edit: opens the basic info section of the link for easy edits

  • Edit translations: opens the translations section of the link for easy edits

  • Duplicate: make an exact copy of the link

  • Open URL: the link will open in a new tab

  • View in app: the links module will open in a new tab

  • Delete: permanently delete the link

Structure the links and collections in the app

Click the arrow next to 'Create link' and choose 'Manage order'.

Drag and drop the links up and down to change the order.

You can also drag a link in or out of a collection.

Click 'Save changes' to implement the order you added to the links.
