Topics overview
Go to News Topics.
There you see an overview of all current topics with this additional information:
are users auto-subscribed to this topic: yes or no
can users unsubscribe from this topic: yes or no
The order in which the topics are displayed in this overview, is the same in which they are displayed in the application for the employee. You can change the order by clicking on the arrows button on the left and by dragging and dropping the topic in another spot in the order.
Create a new topic
Click Actions in the top right corner and click Add new.
Complete all required fields and choose the settings:
Give the topic a name in English and in all languages in which your app is available.
Choose whether users are subscribed by default to the topic.
Allow your colleagues to unsubscribe from this topic or not.
Save the topic by clicking the 'Add new' button at the bottom right.
We recommend to leave the first option checked by default, this means employees will see your news by default and are opted-in standard.
If you check the 2nd option, user can decide to not follow your news article, this could be interesting for job postings, new joiners, baby announcements, and other news that isn't business critical if users don't want to see this.
Employees can always still navigate to this topic by manually selecting the topic, the news posts will just not appear in their main feed. They can also still find the articles when they perform a search.
Use this setup if you want to make topics mandatory, like HR, security, CEO
If you have the digest email enabled, the user will only see articles in here as well for the topics they are subscribed.
Topics for the employees are only visible if you have at least 1 news post sent to you with that topic. So you can create topics by country and not clutter the overview for every user.
If users can unsubscribe , you will see how many employees are left that will receive updates on the non-mandatory topic.
